Μηδὲν τὸ ἅγιον τοῖς κυσὶ δότε, μηδὲ βάλῆτε τοὺς μαργαρίτας ἔμπροσθεν τῶν χοίρων. Εἰ γὰρ κοινῇ τὸν ἀπόρρητον τοῦ λόγου διδάξωμεν, τοῦτο μὲν χλευάσομεν, τοῦτο δὲ τοῖς βαναύσοις καὶ καταφρονηταῖς καταράντες." [Clement, Stromata 1.1]
